About Us

Mei Xia
The founder and principal instructor Mei Xia, a graduate of Beijing Dance Academy, was a performer, choreographer, a dance teacher at the prestigious Beijing Jingshan School for 14 years.
After moving to the US in 2010, Mei Xia has been devoting her dance talent and enthusiasm to the community of Westchester. She is a popular dance teacher at Huaxia Chinese School located in Westchester Community College. Her studio attracts many children and their parents from the Chinese community in Westchester and beyond. The dances Mei choreographs are like a mirror reflecting the lives of the people surrounding her. During performances, you can see children celebrating with their moms (Yalashou), kids playing with dads ( Good Dad and Bad Dad), young kids dancing with their parents ( Hug me if you love me), and mothers see their young selves in the daughters ( Oh! Those Days!) and, new immigrants’ nostalgia to the hometown (Chengdu).
In recent years, Mei’s students have been performing at Purchase University Art Center for the annual WACA Chinese New Year celebrations and Annual Westchester Asia Heritage Festivals, as well as numerous community events. 3 of Mei’s athletes have been selected for the US National Synchronized Dance Youth Team.
In April 2002, Mei's performance team won the Gold prize for its Tibetan dance "Daughters of Himalayas" in Taoli World Dance Competition 2021-2022 Spring Final. And in the same competition, the Adults Students won the Platinum Prize for the Yi dance "The Good Girls".
